I upgraded to Vista 32 from XP Pro now my mouse doesn't work, its a Logitech USB Optical-device manager shows device to be working properly. Vista seems to recognize it when I plug it in. So I tried a Microsoft PS2 mouse same thing-Device mangager says it installed & working properly but the pointer doesn't move.

mouse doesn't work in Vista
Maybe try install the drivers that came with the mouse?

Tried that. Tried using a Microsoft PS2 mouse , a wireless Logitech mouse all show to be installed & working properly-Vista will recognize the them when I plug them in, the PS2 mouse I have to reboot before it sees it. The USB mouse worked fine all through the install untill the very last reboot. I figured the drivers for their own mouse should work at least.

Try dowmloading new drivers from Logitech. It worked for my marble mouse
I am having the exact same problem as RoadKing. In fact, I don't think it's a logitech problem because I tried three different mouses from different brands, both USB and PS/2 and USB with PS/2 adapter; any combination!
Everything else seems to be working as they should (and not working as they should not) except the MOUSE!!!
As RoadKing said, it happens to me that the mouse works during install, but stops after booting into the first real use of vista!
And i can't even go back to XP; another problem, I can choose "earlier version" of windows during boot manager, but the screen just turns black and nothing would load....
anyone has any clue?
Thanks Clement

Had the same thing happen with my Logitech wireless mouse. Went into BIOS and enabled Legacy USB support, and the mouse now works fine.

G'Day Roadking. I've got exactly the same problem, except I'm using a MS serial mouse. It *WAS* working during install, but as soon as Vista ran for real, the mouse froze up. I've tried 2 different mice, same problem. Now trying to use the KB to navigate my way to the device manager (if I can find it) ;-)
